Opportunity to join the new Poverty and Inequality Commission
As you may know, the Poverty and Inequality Commission will become a statutory public body from 1 July 2019. We are pleased to advise you that, following the successful appointment of Bill Scott as Chair, we have today advertised for Members to join the new Commission. We will be accepting applications until 1 April 2019.
We are seeking to appoint up to eight members in order to ensure that as a whole the Commission has the broad range of skills and experience needed. Individuals can have gained their experience in any setting, whether that be in their own life or through paid or voluntary work. What’s important is that candidates are passionate about the issues and ready to work together to make Scotland a better place.
The candidate information pack contains all that anyone who might be interested in applying needs to know. This can be found online at: http://bit.ly/2SU0gAh.
In order to encourage applications, members of the assessment panel are happy to consider requests to speak to groups of interested candidates. They could talk about the application and assessment process and what the role involves – if you are interested in organising this please get in touch with email@example.com.
We would be very grateful for any help you can offer in ensuring the success of this appointment round. By bringing this opportunity to the attention of suitable candidates, and sharing it within your networks, you will help to ensure the Commission’s success.
