For over 25 Years we have provided a safe space for women in Glasgow. We aim to empower women by offering them opportunities to strengthen their choices in a challenging economic climate leading to changing their lives.
The Women’s Centre Glasgow board of directors is looking for trustees to work alongside the existing team to bring our board up to full capacity. We currently have a Chair, Secretary and Treasurer with the other places taken by trustees.
There are 9 members of staff and over 30 volunteers who assist in the delivery of our services across Glasgow.
In all of our work, we focus on securing social and economic equality for all groups of women in Glasgow. We aim to ensure women’s rights are realised regardless of ability, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, age or background.
We are specifically looking for people who have an interest in operational management, events management, HR, policy setting or with a financial background to help us develop as a team and prepare to accommodate the increasing demand on our services.
Our board consists of representatives from community organisations, however we would welcome applications from other unrelated sectors that could help us diversify and add to our skillset.
Our board’s responsibility is the governance and overseeing the management of the Women’s Centre with funding responsibilities and there are also opportunities to become involved in a more hands-on capacity.
Working with the Women’s Centre can be very rewarding with opportunities to meaningfully engage with local women, partnership agencies, and corporate organisations and become involved in the provision of supporting women, supporting families and supporting communities.
